Who we are

Trade Mastery ("Trade Mastery", "we", "us") is a trading journal web application operated by Yusuf Hassim, a sole proprietor based in South Africa, trading as Trade Mastery.

We are the responsible party for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to you, we act as the data controller.

What we collect

Information you give us:

• Your email address and password (passwords are stored hashed — we never see them)
• Trade records you log: instrument, direction, session, entry time, risk and result percentages, risk:reward ratio, confidence rating, setup and behaviour tags, and any notes you write
• Screenshots you upload to your trades
• Messages you send to the AI Coach
• Payment details are collected and processed by Paystack — we never see or store your card number

Information collected automatically:

• Authentication session data (cookies necessary to keep you logged in)
• Basic usage and error information needed to operate and debug the service

Why we use it

• To provide the service: storing your trades, calculating your scores, streaks, ranks and statistics, and generating AI coaching based on your own logged data
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure
• To send you service emails (account confirmation, password resets) and, if you have opted in, your weekly recap email
• To process your subscription payments
• To diagnose faults and improve the service

Our lawful basis is the performance of our contract with you (providing the service you signed up for), our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service, and your consent where you have opted into optional emails.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Trade Mastery:

These transfers involve your information leaving South Africa. Each provider is bound by their own data protection commitments and processes information on our instructions only.

A note on the AI Coach: when you use the Coach, a summary of your trading statistics and your ten most recent trades (including any notes you wrote) is sent to Anthropic to generate a response. Anthropic does not use this data to train their models. If you would prefer this not to happen, simply do not use the Coach feature.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, your trades, screenshots, coach conversations and personal information are permanently deleted within 30 days. We may retain minimal records of payments where tax or accounting law requires it.

Your rights

You may:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Export your trade data at any time from your account settings
• Correct anything inaccurate
• Delete your account and all associated data from your account settings
• Object to processing or withdraw consent for optional emails
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za), or your local supervisory authority if you are in the EU or UK

Security

Your data is protected by row-level security at the database level, meaning your records are technically inaccessible to other users. Screenshots are stored in a private bucket and served only through short-lived signed links. All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.

Children

Trade Mastery is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. If we make material changes we will notify you by email or through the app before they take effect.
